Sunami woes after earthquake in Indonesia, figure of 832 deaths
Jakarta: The number
of people killed in the island of Sulawesi has reached 832, due to the
earthquake that struck Indonesia and the resulting tsunami. According to the
media report, relief and rescue personnel reach
ing the most affected area of the Tsunami is still in progress.
The survivors are
helping the officials in recovering the body of the dead. Of the dead, 11
people belong to Donggalla and 821 from the province of Palu. So far some
foreign nationals are missing. Among foreigners, foreigners are French, one
South Korea and some other citizens.
The statement issued
by the Disaster Management Agency said that people have to face difficulties in
getting rid of their homes and carrying out relief work. At least 540 people
were badly injured, according to an agency spokesman. Hospitals are facing a
lot of problems in the treatment of the injured people being recruited in large
numbers.
